“I never
considered myself a good drawer. At first I didn’t want
anyone to see what I was doing, but then one week…I
felt I was able to capture the feeling on the face of a mother
crying at the window looking at her son with a gun. And it
made me feel like I might be good at stuff that I tell myself
I’m not good at.” –
Mural Participant

These workshops engage the participants in discussions and
group work to address ideas and feelings in order
to identify mural themes.
The sketches developed during these workshops will reflect
these discussions and will, in turn, be reflected in the final
mural design.
The workshops also include an educational component that
will address mural history, color theory, painting, and mural
grid techniques.
